  • Me: HMM, Why don't you try it?
  • Patrick: [pulls ribbon] Huh. That didn't work.

new.

I move into college tomorrow. It’s been awhile since I talked about UCLA, so here’s the deal:

I’m living on-campus in a suite with 5 other girls. I share a room with two of the girls, and there’s another room with the other three. We share a bathroom and living room.

I’ve been waiting so long for this day. For the longest time, it was the day I finally got rid of my parents and would have freedom to do what I wanted, without being stopped by their over protection and traditional, conservative principles. For awhile, it seemed like this day would never come, because my friends were going off to college weeks before me.

All of my stuff is loaded into the minivan, so the only thing left is to eat dinner, shower, sleep and hope that the van makes it over the hill [with all my crap] to UCLA.

I’ve just realized that my “oh, don’t throw that away, it’s sentimental” philosophy has led to me accumulating a LOT of crap over the past 18 years. Right now, my room is pretty empty. Everything is either in the trash, on my bookshelf, or in the minivan waiting for tomorrow.

Next post, I’ll be a college student!

Though lovable…Jade was nevertheless one of those people whose personality proved to be bane of modern mathematicians. She was neither a flat nor a solid shape. She showed no symmetry at all. Trigonometry, Calculus and Statistics all proved useless. Her Pie Chart was a muddle of arbitrary wedges, her Line Graph, the silhouette of the Alps. And just when one listed her under Chaos Theory—Butterfly effects, Weather Predictions, Fractals, Bifurcation diagrams and whatnot—she showed up as an equilateral triangle, sometimes ever a square.
